Rishi Kumar is running for United States Congress from Silicon Valley’s Congress District 18. Rishi Kumar is a longtime resident of Silicon Valley, a hi-tech software executive, resident of Saratoga and an elected leader representing his city. Rishi is the husband of Seema who also works full-time in the networking industry and is an equal partner in Rishi’s community efforts. As an immigrant engineer working for IBM, Rishi found his calling as an activist stepping up for complex community challenges that he couldn’t ignore. Rishi is not a career politician and brings a fearless data-driven agenda to deliver results “cheaper, faster, better” for his community. Rishi is currently the executive board member and delegate of California Democratic Party representing his district AD28. As a councilmember of Saratoga, Rishi led the charge to reject water rate increases and drop crime - two of the top Saratoga challenges. This led to his re-election with the most votes in Saratoga’s election history. Rishi believes in citizen-centric values as an elected leader and he has pledged to not accept Special Interest Group or PAC money for his campaign. Seema and Rishi live in Saratoga with their two sons.
